How exciting it is for me to have the opportunity to be part of the delegation participating in the Washington State Governor’s 2011 Business Mission to Europe – France and Germany, June 20-24. My community and technical college colleagues, The Air Washington group, will join those representing government, small and large businesses, labor unions, regional councils, and other workforce and economic development-focused organizations….What a great collaborative effort to bring business to Washington State!
Our focus at the Paris Air show, billed to be the “world’s biggest show on Earth dedicated to the aerospace industry,” will be an opportunity to discover all the industry innovations, observe leading-edge technologies, identify aerospace careers and training needs, and do lots of networking. It’s also an opportunity for Washington State to showcase our expertise, products, and services to the industry’s leaders and players worldwide. As Dean for Workforce Development at Clover Park Technical College, in Pierce County, I look forward to sharing information about the certificate and degree programs in Aerospace Composite Technician, Material Science – Composites and Nondestructive Testing, Aviation Maintenance, and more, offered at our South Hill Campus Aviation Center. Additionally, our Pierce County Colleges Partnership works with businesses to meet their education and training needs throughout the region, nation, and internationally.
I appreciate all the planning that is being done to make this mission successful…regular updates, conference calls and briefing materials. I have my airline tickets, passport, reservations, $$$$…..Oh, and my copy of “Paris for Dummies.”
What a unique occasion to do business…Looking forward to sharing our outcomes! Mabel Edmonds Dean for Workforce Development Clover Park Technical College
